Tioman Island

Tioman is one the places in Malaysia where you can enjoy duty-free shopping. The duty exemption mainly for tobacco and alcohol products and the place 'shop your way up' is none other than the village of Tekek.

Though this duty-exemption is just for tobacco and alcohol products, expect more than that because stores in Tekek have a good selection of t-shirts, bathing suits, key-chain, chocolates and of course other Tioman souvenirs.

If you take the round-island tours, they will definitely make it to Tekek. In case they don't, you don't have any choice than renting a small boat to shop at Tekek (expect to pay around RM40 max per pax).
